What's that strange wet stuff falling from the sky?

I'm not sure what it was, but this weird wet stuff fell from the sky today. It didn't fall for very long, but it did definitely come down. I think it's called "rain"?

You know it's been a long time since it's rained when the kids sprint outside and start playing in it, and instead of yelling at them, I grabbed the camera and filmed it.

It was nowhere near enough - it might have lasted 20 minutes, if even that long. But at least it was something.

It was bright and sunny the whole time too. We looked, but couldn't find a rainbow.

Other than that, it was a normal day. Lots of running back and forth to get kids to and from school, then supper, and I've been working on getting the sand plums cooked down and juiced now that I have a fully functional stove. I have one more big batch to cook and juice, and then I think I am going to call it a night. This weekend will be full of canning once the older kids head out in the morning.

  1. I love rain.

Or I used to till I moved to the Pacific Northwest.

Now I miss thunder and lightning. It's very rare to hear/see any here. Or at least where I am.

  2. We haven't had any significant rain in MONTHS and the heat has been brutal this summer. I mean, as soon as we heard it coming down, we all sprinted outside! Here we are praying for rain, and my friends back home are having everything washed out from under them - literally. =/

  3. Love it love it love it! I would be perfectly content if it would just rain all weekend. I could get my canning done, watch some football, watch some NASCAR (all on the same day!) and just enjoy myself.
