It's Done!

Remember the sneak peak that you got the other night? Well, it's officially done....

I had completed the top a couple of years ago but just never got around to quilting and binding it. So here it is, both in progress and completed:

On the frame and in the process of being quilted.

Seriously, doing the binding is my favorite part. Curl up on the couch with a movie and sew away. It took me about 5-6 hours to do the binding on this one. And no, my house is not cold. Daniel likes winter "kajamas".

Finished size is about 60" x 72". One thing I really miss about the old house - being able to hang the finished ones on the clothesline to get a good picture!

Back and binding

This one will be going along to the craft show that I'm doing next Saturday - any money that we make from anything that we sell there will go into the "Mother of All Road Trips: 2011 Edition" fund. ;) The girls are even starting to get into to and are trying to make some things to sell - not quite sure how that's going to work out, but it'll certainly be interesting!

Now, if I just had a bigger table, I could finish the rest of the ones that I have.....

  1. Beautiful. And satisfying. Quilts are so special.

Please don't look at my t-shirt quilt; you would snort.

    Even your binding is bling.

  2. Oh Sid, now you know I'm going to have to go look for it! ;) I love the binding - if I can't do anything else on a quilt, just let me do the binding! LOL

  4. That is a beautiful piece of work. I don't have the patience or attention span to complete something that big much less more than one of them. I hope you get a good price for it to add to your road trip money.

THE ONE QUILT OF HERS THAT I HAD FOR MANY YEARS, THEN GAVE TO MY DAUGHTER, JUST PLAIN WORE OUT. HER MOTHER IN LAW TOOK IT HOME WITH HER AND MADE CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS OUT OF IT. I WAS GIVEN ONE WHICH MADE ME A HAPPY CAMPER. SO ENJOY. SOMEDAY THE KIDS WILL REMEMBER YOU SEWING THEM WITH LOVE. YOUR ONE SUPER MOM.

  7. P.S. Did I see a "price tag" on it anywhere??? hmmm??? Inquiring minds and all...

  8. Mare, you're so silly! Kansas might seem like a different world, but it's certainly not a different country! LOL I actually haven't set a price on it yet - still thinking about it.

And it doesn't *have* to go to the craft show. If it were to be sold before then, it could always be shipped to the lucky buyer! ;)

  10. that's gorgeous! You're very talented - can't wait to see the others as you get them finished. I sew, but I absolutely do not quilt, so I admire anyone who does!
