The day was spent cleaning and doing laundry and getting things ready for The Dude and I to go on our little road trip tomorrow. I ran around like a maniac all day, trying to get things done on my end, while he took care of things at his house. In between running kids back and forth to school, I even managed to go ahead and get gas in the van and stop at the carwash to vacuum it out for the first time in months - finally, all signs of the Christmas tree are gone from inside of it.
The boys are all gone. Jared spent the night at a friend's house and so he didn't even come home after school. After Alex's father showed up an hour and a half late to pick him up, The Dude and the girls and I took Daniel to Wichita to meet a friend of mine, and he's staying with her and her son for the weekend.
So, the laundry is done - or as done as it's going to get. Our stuff is packed, other than what we need for the morning. My nails are done. The Dude and I have gone over lists of things that we might have forgotten, and so far, I think we're in good shape. I mean really, we're only going for an overnight, so it's not like we need that much - but add to that going to a formal event and it makes it that much more stressful.
Tomorrow morning, we are taking the girls to Emily's basketball game. After the game, the girls are going with Ex1, and The Dude and I are hitting the road and heading straight to Oklahoma City. We should get there by 3-4:00, so we'll have lots of time to check in to our room and get ready for the 7:00 wedding (*see note below).
We aren't sure what we're going to do on Sunday yet. The weather in Oklahoma City is supposed to be wonderful with temperatures in the mid-60s. We had originally planned to meet a friend for lunch, but we aren't sure if that is going to happen or not - but if it doesn't, we are going to just wander around the city and enjoy the scenery and the fresh air for a few hours. We don't have to be back in Wichita until about 7:00pm to get Daniel, so we have lots of time to do something (or nothing).
I can not wait to get on the road. The Dude is excited too - he's even started asking me "are we there yet?"
*Just for clarification, because several people have made comments over the past few days....The Dude and I are GOING TO a wedding. We are NOT getting married.
Make sure to give my best wishes to the bride and groom. :) I thought about sending him a message, but I know how hectic the last couple days before a wedding can be!! ;) I can't wait to see pictures, I'm sure it's going to be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be awesome! I can't wait to get there and see them! We'll take lots of pictures, but most of them won't be posted until we get back since I don't have a laptop.

Aw, Kells, it's ok! Like I said the other night, don't rule it out completely yet - we'll see what's going on tomorrow and then make an official decision. And even if we don't do it tomorrow, we'll do it soon! Love you!
