Art show and science fair

After a wonderful day of running around with The Dude and Daniel, I went to the girls' art show and science fair at their school. The Dude graciously offered to watch Alex and Daniel for me so that I could go alone, which was wonderful and gave me time to look around at all of the exhibits without having to chase kids the whole time.

Emily's projects.....

And Sarah's.....

And probably one of my favorite projects for the science fair.....and no, it was not the only gun-related one, either!

But for now, I'm going to kick back and watch the storms roll through the area, and see if anything significant happens. It looked uglier earlier, but I think it's going to blow around us like it usually does!

A conference and artwork

Yesterday, I went to Daniel's parent-teacher conference at preschool. This was his final conference of this year, and we went over whether or not he is ready for kindergarten. Needless to say, he's more than ready. His teacher is pleased with the progress that he's made this year and has seen some definite improvements in a few areas.

After we got done talking to her, Daniel showed us his artwork that was on display throughout the school. Alex and The Dude were with us, and the boys loved showing us everything. Alex had fun exploring the school again since he went there last year, and we got to see lots of artwork.

Only a little over a month of school left, and then my baby is going to be a kindergartner. *sniff*

Now that the weather has cleared up again, we've been walking back and forth to school more. I love being able to walk there, and although the boys complain about it occasionally, they seem to enjoy it more often than not. It gives us exercise and fresh air, and makes the gas in the van last just a little bit longer, so I'm definitely not going to complain about it. Of course, it'll be much easier in the fall when they're both going to the same school!

A day of running (literally)

The morning started out with the girls participating in a 5K race...

They each got 3rd place medals for their age groups. :)

Before the race, we had some time to kill, so we wandered around by the dam and took a few pictures.

Then an art show, complete with an entire gymnasium full of quilts! *swoon*

Then we went to the playground for a while....

And to the library....

Then home for supper, baths, bedtime...the girls are watching a movie and I'm going to kick back and redo my nails (assuming that I can keep my eyes open) and clean the kitchen and the living room.

The older 3 go to church in the morning, and then Daniel and I have a full day planned until Alex comes back home tomorrow evening. Then finally we get back into the school routine on Monday.

I think I need a vacation.
