Lake adventures

There was a storm in the distance as we got to the lake. It was interesting to watch it move throughout the day, but of course it didn't come anywhere near us.

We were the only swimmers there for the majority of the time. A few other families came and stayed for a little bit and then left, so we felt like we had the lake to ourselves.

The water is extremely low because of the drought. It's usually up to the grass and you can't really walk along the bank.

The storm across the lake.

Playing with the camera effects on my phone.

See the plane?

Another shot of the storm.

Another plane shot.

I had to actually sit in the water (desperately hoping that I wouldn't drop my phone) to get these shots - and it was made even more difficult by the fact that the sun was so bright that I couldn't see the screen on my phone to see if I was getting them or not.

I walked out on the dike that helps to form the swimming area to get some different shots.

The kids in the water - I'm not a great swimmer, so I've never been able to get out to the orange buoys before, but the water is so low right now that I could walk to within about 20 feet of them and then doggy-paddle the rest of the way to actually touch them. Hopefully we get some rain soon.

It's a rough life....Oh, and those two things sticking up in the water about halfway out? Those are Sarah's legs.

On the way back, we took a slight detour to check on the sand plums. Looks like I'm going to be busy over the next month or so....and that's a good thing!

I have only two rules - don't reveal anyone's personal information, and be respectful. It's not difficult, honest. Now, go on and play.
